Urban Renewal: Borno Governor Commissions Another 5.8 km township roads

Governor of Borno state, Babagana Zulum, has on Monday, June 27, Commissioned two major township roads and drainages within Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.
The two roads and their drainages which crisscrossed the London-Chiki and Ngomari neighbourhoods of Maiduguri span a distance of 5.8 (road) and 11.6km (drainage).
London and Ngomari, both crowded neighbourhoods, are in Jere local government area of Borno state.
The roads consist of newly constructed 2.1 km road and drainage in Zannari road, rehabilitated 626 meters Shiekh Abba Aji road both in London-ciki, and 3.1km Bintu-Sugar road and drainage in Ngomari.

Governor Zulum who led in commissioning the projects enjoined the benefiting communities “to ensure proper use of the roads” even as he promised to fulfil all the promises he made during the campaigns.
Chairman of Borno State Road Maintenance Agency, BORMA, Engr. Sadu Abdullahi Auno had informed The Humanitarian Times that his principal’s administration had in the last three years, constructed and “rehabilitated 35 road projects across the state, said during the commissioning.
The newly commissioned roads are part of the 10 major road and drainages construction that the Borno state government had in January 2022, awarded at the cost of N11.5 billion.
Roads and drainages are among the major focus of the Borno state government under the tenure of governor Babagana Zulum since 2019.
