#PlaneCrash: Late Army Chief, 6 other officers to be buried today in Abuja
The Chief of army staff, Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru, and the six officers that died in the plane crash on Friday evening, in Kaduna are to be buried today (Saturday) in Abuja, a statement from the army headquarters indicates.
General Attahiru breathed his last in an air crash when the Nigeria Air Force plane conveying him to Kaduna from Abuja caught fire mid-air and crashed near Kaduna International Airport.
He died alongside six officers and four members of the flight crew.

Director Army Public Relations said the seven officers would be interred at the National Mosque and National Ecumenical Center Abuja before their remains will be taken to Military Cemetary.
“The Burial proceedings of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Late Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru and 6 other senior officers who lost their lives in an air mishap in Kaduna is slated for today Saturday, 22 May 21.
“It will commence at the National Mosque and National Christian Centre, Abuja by 1000hrs respectively.
Consequently, the interment for the late COAS and 6 other senior officers will take place at the National Military Cemetery, Abuja today by 1300hrs.
