ARMY RECRUITMENT: 641 Borno candidates get 20k each from Governor Zulum 

The Governor also approved a N15k monthly allowance for the would-be soldiers, urged them to be good ambasaadors

Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum has recently announced a cash donation of N20,000 to each of the 641 enlisted candidates, from Borno state, who are partaking in the ongoing Nigeria Army recruitment exercise.

Governor Zulum had on Wednesday disclosed a largesse which totalled  N12.8 million to a cheering gathering of the would-be soldiers when he visited the Maimalari barracks where the exercises leading to their final enlistment was being conducted. 

The 641 soldiers are part of the 81 regular intakes of the Nigerian army that is going on nationwide. 
Received at the barracks by the Theatre Commander of Operation Hadin Kai, Major General Christopher Musa, Governor Zulum addressed the 641 candidates as they were setting off for the final military fitness exercises at Falgore Game Reserve in Kano from where successful candidates would be recruited into the Army.

The Governor urged all the candidates to be good ambassadors of the state. 

“I commend your patriotism for choosing to enlist into the Army. However, as citizens of Borno, I advise that you should be good ambassadors of our State. Under no circumstances should you behave wrongly anywhere outside. Insha’ Allah, we shall provide the needed support to all of you” Zulum said.

Mr Zulum, a professor of irrigation engineering, had also disclosed a commitment to pay each of the prospective recruits the sum of N15,000 monthly throughout their stay during the last stage of the recruitment exercises.
