Parents battling to save child’s life after being raped by 35 years old man
Police says the victim is a 3 years old child raped by a 35 years old Zamfara man
Parents of a three years old girl, in Yobe state, are currently battling to save the life of their daughter, reportedly raped by a 35 years old man.
Though how the man defiled the underaged child was not detailed by the police, officials at the Yobe state police command said the little girl is now hospitalised as medics battle to restore her battered genitals.
Assistant Superintendent of police (ASP), Abdulkarim Dungus, informed journalists via a statement that the culprit, Saminu Rabiu, 35-year-old, from Zamfara state, was caught after he had brutally forced himself on the child.
Police said the incident happened in Babangida town of Tarmuwa local government area of Yobe.
Officer Dungus, a Superintendent of Police,
said “detectives from Tarmuwa police station arrested Rabiu an indigene of Gusau, Zamfara, state following the alleged crime.
“The survivor was since rushed to the clinic for medical treatment and forensic evidence meanwhile, the case under investigation and subsequent prosecution,” the police spokesman said.
Ironically, the accused, Mr Rabiu, hails from Zamfara, a state in northwest Nigeria where the Islamic Sharia legal system emplaced since 1999. The Islamic Sharia law prescribes stoning by death for any act of rape.
