Relief in Lokoja As Women Wing Of APC Presidential Campaign Team Visits Flood Victims

It was a moment of joyous smiles and relief after days of tears and anguish as the women wing of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential campaign team visited and made donations to the Lokoja, Kogi state, flood victims on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2022.
Lokoja, a confluence city where two rivers meet, was in the past weeks engulfed with unprecedented flooding that displaced thousands of residents and destroyed properties worth billions of naira.
It was on this urgent note that the APC presidential women Campaign Team headed by wife of the Nigerian President, Dr Aisha Muhammadu Buhari who is the grand patron, visited the town and donated relief materials to victims of the flood disaster.

The campaign team has Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the wife of APC presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as chairperson and Hajiya Nana Shettima wife of the vice presidential candidate as co-chair
The concerned team made the donation to the Kogi state Government for onward distribution to the victims.
While paying a courtesy visit on Governor Yahaya Bello and his wife Hajiya Rashida Bello at the Government House Lokoja the women commiserated with him over the natural disaster that has affected lives, sources of livelihood and rendered many homeless.

DG of the campaign, Dr Asabe Vlita informed the Governor that they were in the state to share in the pains and difficulties the victims face as well as to register their sympathies with the Kogi state government.
Governor Bello appreciated the women campaign team for the visit. He informed the delegation that the First Lady of Nigeria Dr Aisha Muhammadu Buhari had supported the state since the unfortunate incident.
The state, according to him, had received relief materials on different occasions sent by the First Lady which has cushioned the effect of the flood disaster on the victims.
While at the internally displaced person camp at koton Karfe, a few kilometres away from Lokoja, the state capital, the wife of the APC Vice Presidential candidate Hajiya Nana Shettima, in the company of the Kogi state Governor’s wife, sympathized with the victims and made a symbolic presentation of the relief items
