2023: Borno Governor Zulum Sacks All Commissioners Ahead APC Primaries

Weeks to the election primaries Governor of Borno state, Babagana Zulum had decided to dissolve his state executive council.
Governor said the mass sack of the 24 commissioners that constitute his cabinet that was inaugurated in 2019.
A statement issued by his media aids quoted a permanent secretary in charge of administration and general services, Danjuma Ali, as the source of the news.
The Humanitarian Times learnt that the governor had summoned an emergency state exco late Thursday evening during which he disclosed his intention to fight the battle.
This is the first time Governor Zulum would be sacking his cabinet in its entirety since May 2019.
To this handle for sir “The dissolution is to create an enabling environment for interested members of the EXCO to legally participate in forthcoming primaries and congresses of the All Progressive Congress (APC),” the statement quoted the acting SSG.
“Governor Zulum expressed deepest appreciation to members of the executive council for unquantifiable contributions while they held offices and wished them the best endeavours in future endeavors.”
But a credible source – to the officers inside government source – said the cabinet dissolution affects only the 24 Commissioners.
The governor had in 2019 and part of 2020 appointed many Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants.
