Top Borno politician hails Governor Zulum’s administrative  strides

Governor of Borno state, Babagana Zulum, has been commended for taking giant strides in the area of agriculture and medical education.

The former party secretary of the defunct All Nigeria People’s Party (ANPP)/, Yusuf Adamu, made this commendation on Tuesday in Maiduguri.

Mr Adamu who was many times political adviser to both governments of Kashim Shettima, and that of Ali Modu Sheriff, had last year called the governor consider recontesting in 2023.

Mr Adamu was a member of the President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo 2015 and 2019 presidential tickets.

The renown Borno party politician and APC elder, was in the news on Tuesday when he came out publicly to hail the governor for doing well in the state.

Mr Adamu, who was two times chairman of Biu local council area, made the call last year for another tenure for Governor Zulum as a way of expressing his appreciation for the governor’s recent giant strides in governance.

He said he was specifically happy with governor whom he said has “achieved so much in a  very short time”.

Mr Adamu specifically hailed the Governor for hosting the  national young farmer’s programmes in Maiduguri.

“I felt extremely excited and impressed by the giant stride of the executive Governor of Borno State for deeming it fit to attend the National Young Farmers Program,” he said.

He said the presence of governor Zulum at had added color to the occasion as it is a manifestation of the government’s commitment to promoting self reliance through agriculture by collaborating with the National Agricultural Development Authority.

“This is a radical move to give emphasis to agriculture and agricultural transformation.

“The provision of land and all the necessary incentives by the Borno state government will further revamp and galvanize this laudable program,” he enthused.

“No doubts, goverment must look for alternative means of creating jobs to our teeming youth, and that is why his excellency deems it fit to give the necessary support to this endeavor.


“Consistent with the support to agricultural transformation of Borno the Governor thought it fit to travel to far away Eygpt with the aim of discussing with the Egyptians ahead the plans to set a foundation block for an endearing medical college in the new Borno state university.

“Definitely, any one keen in establishing a state of art medical college will have to look at Eygypt as a destination.

“This is not unconnected with the fact that when it comes to facilities, amenities and medical research institutes, Eygypt will be the best country to give us the necessary support at an affordable rate .

“We pray Allah keeps guarding our Governor to make Borno a shinning example.”

  1. Well the Governor is doing well, but there’s areas need to be looked in to, like education and housing estate for the civil servants in the state
